spool table


this little side table was a labor of love! i've had this collection of old wooden spools kicking around for quite some time (meaning like 8 or so years give or take!). they've been lying around waiting for the perfect project and here it is!


i had the idea and let it just stew for a while as it all came together. i was working in the shop over the weekend and all of the parts presented themselves - as if hitting me over the head and saying "it's time!"

i love the idea of multiples repeating of anything (hence all those random collections that seem to have a way of building up!). it is sort of like a little cityscape of spools resting peacefully under a piece of glass.

This is gorgeous! My grandmother has a whole drawer filled with thread for her sewing machine.

If I ever inherit them, this is how they will be displayed!
